Monday gave us the 32nd Sports Equinox of all time. A time for sports fans that’s akin to Christmas morning for kids. This message is set squarely for you. The you? Roger, Rob, Adam, and Gary. The Tribal Chiefs of the four major sports.

It was a night where the very best of the best in the four major sports were in action. A singular night that had the likes of Mahomes, Curry, Ohtani, and Crosby all in action. Several other stars as well. But let’s use those four for example’s sake. Four of the greatest players ever to play their respective games.

ESPN’s new, cleverly worded app, entitled “ESPN“. NBA League Pass, now on Amazon Prime. The NHL Network and YouTube TV. Yeah, that’s what I was using on four different devices to watch it all. It was a pain in the ass, aka Brian Kelly.

I’m not bitching about sports and streaming. Not at all. It’s where we are in the sports landscape. But as I write this, I see a message at the bottom of my YouTube TV feed urging me to sign a petition to keep my ESPN networks.

It’s not my job to settle network pissing contests, which seemingly come up once a month. It’s not my job to do that legwork. It’s yours.

Every sport is its own entity. Each is its own respective billion-dollar industry. At some point, you would think —or hope — for humanity that the four Tribal Chiefs of sports could actually come together for the thing that actually drives their salaries and sports, the fans.

On a random, late October Monday, we should’ve been able to quad box in on all the fun. Me? Computer, phone, TV1, and TV2, that’s what it took.

So I ask the four figureheads a question that every sports fan asks. Remember us? Monday was a perfect night to celebrate sports. In a wild world of uncertainty and whatnot, sports are a common ground.

I don’t want cable back, satellite TV back, or anything of the sort. I like streaming. I love the ability to take games with me, wherever, whenever. I love it when I go into “sports bars” now and don’t have to wait for a bartender or server with 52 different remotes to get a game I want to see on, it’s in my hands. By the way, the term “sports bar” needs to be redefined in the states, because there are few and far between that are actually worth a damn. I digress.

What I want from Rodg, Silver, Gary, and my favorite…Bobby Manfraud is simple. Remember where you came from. Remember why you fell in love with the sport that you now run—the joy you found in loving your sport, and sports in general. It is entirely possible for you guys to actually look at the problem as a whole, together, and make it better. Make it more easily accessible, especially in rare occurrences like last night.

Let us all experience that in real time and together, on one quad box. One night doesn’t affect the bottom line. I’m speaking for sports fans everywhere here when I borrow a line from Roman Reigns.

Acknowledge me.
